2005
- Sustainability launched as one of seven components of the Electrolux Thoughtful Design Innovator brand.
- Formalized the Supplier Monitoring and Compliance Program with a first phase in China, an expanded Group auditing capacity, and establishment of new program office at Group headquarters.
- Electrolux management systems integrated into new production facilities
- Increased awareness, implementation and monitoring of The Electrolux Workplace Code of Conduct among employees.
- Established program office and took necessary action to comply with the EU Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive, effective in many European countries in 2005.
- Established effective system for ensuring compliance with the EU Directive on Restriction of the use of certain Hazardous Substances (RoHS), effective July 1, 2006.
2004
- Won 4 of 5 product classes in the European Energy+ Program
- Implemented the Electrolux Restricted Materials List
- Established, The European Recycling Platform the first pan-European platform for management of waste products together with Sony, Hewlett Packard and Braun
- Introduced management practices for the Electrolux Workplace Code of Conduct
- Assessed the implementation of the Workplace Code of Conduct through ALFA, our internal monitoring system
- Initiated an audit program for the Workplace Code of Conduct at Electrolux factories
- Developed and initiated the Supplier Monitoring and Compliance Program
- Adopted the Electrolux Code of Ethics
- Adopted the Electrolux Policy on Countering Corruption and Bribery.
2002
- EU adopts WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) Directive, including individual producer responsibility as advocated by Electrolux
- All production entirely CFC-free, including recently acquired facilities in India and China.
2001
- Environmental policy updated
- The SWEEP project in North America uses Electrolux products to show substantial savings in energy and water
- The CO2 washer was introduced, using only non-polluting carbon dioxide for dry cleaning
- Electrolux continues to win recommendations from environmental and ethical investment funds and indexes, including FTSE4Good
- E-Tech™ in all handheld combustion engine driven outdoor products.
2000
- Energy+ awards Electrolux for most energy efficient combined refrigerator/freezer in Europe
- Environmental Report becomes entirely web-based and is named best in Swedish industry
- The Electrolux share is selected by a number of analysts and investors with focus on sustainability
- Henrik Sundström takes over as head of Group Environmental Affairs. Environmental work integrated in business sectors.
1999
- Electrolux selected for the first Dow Jones Sustainability Index
- Functional Sales project Pay-per-Wash introduced.
1998
- Electrolux Environmental Report named best among Swedish manufacturing companies
- Corporate Minimum Requirements introduced throughout the Group and HCFC eliminated in China operations
- Per Grunewald, head of Group Environmental Affairs, voted Environmental Manager of the year in Sweden.
1997
- Electrolux launches unique Environmental Declarations for all major European appliances
- AEG Öko Lavatherm wins IEAS contest
- Electrolux Commercial Refrigeration wins contest for most efficient refrigeration cabinet.
1996
- Electrolux first in the market to launch rechargeable cadmium-free batteries for portable vacuum cleaners
- E-tech™ for outdoor products introduced
- Front loading Gallery Tumble Action Washer with horizontal axis launched in North America
- First Environmental Report published.
1995
- Group Environmental Affairs established
- Electrolux Wascator wins NUTEK contest for most efficient professional washing machine
- Solar Mower launched.
