About Electrolux
Grazing lawn mower fertilizes
Quietly munching its way around the lawn, Automower™ keeps grass perpetually at the right length and takes the sweat out of a weekly chore.
Electrolux Automower

Like Trilobite®, the world’s first automatic vacuum cleaner, Automower™ is designed to save time and make life easier. Once the boundaries of a lawn are set with a perimeter wire system, Automower can be trusted to wander off on its own continuously munching away, rain or shine, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, recharging itself as needed.

''Automower is based on the simple observation that most people have better things to do on a Saturday afternoon than get hot and sweaty pushing around a lawnmower,'' says Christina Lindstedt, the Electrolux business manager for Automower. ''It’s also based on the concept of a grazing animal, cutting little but often.''

And, like a grazing animal, it fertilizes as it munches, though in a more pleasant-smelling way. That’s because the short clippings from Automower drop back into the lawn, helping to retain moisture and providing needed nutrients to the grass.

Automower’s technology is also gentler than that used by most lawnmowers – or grazing animals – cutting the grass neatly, rather than tearing at it. It can be left running unattended and is safe to leave running with other animals around, since it is equipped with sensors that cause it to reverse and choose another direction if it runs into objects such as pets.

A single Automower can handle lawns of up to 1,800 square meters. A pair of Automowers can work as a team to cover larger lawns.
Automower’s electric motor uses about the same amount of electricity as a 15 Watt lightbulb and, at 63 decibles, is quieter than the typical volume of a television. Automower can be programmed to run continuously or only during certain hours on certain days. A pin code security system deters kidnapping by jealous neighbors.

Mowed lawn

''The central point of any garden is the lawn and when the lawn looks its best, the garden looks its best,'' Lindstedt concludes. ''Unfortunately, few of us have the time to maintain the grass at the standard we’d like. Besides, most people would rather sip a glass of wine while enjoying the lawn with friends than work on it.''
